We got it!
So, yes we got the house. They actually gave us the 5k off we needed. I told my realtor that if we didn’t get the 5k off we were going to walk. So she was all worried that we were going to walk if we didn’t get the 5k off, so she made it clear to the other realtor that we were going to walk unless!! But L and I discussed that we were going to tell our realtor that just to make sure we pressured the other guy!
Once you know the rules to a game then you can finally being to play well! All-in-all our realtor did an excellent job, being that this was one of her first houses. She worked her trail off…
Now the fun part comes, PACKING. My internet was disconnected early because…well we don’t know. It seems that we had a string of stupid mistakes just happen recently.
First, our internet was disconnected early because someone forgot to tell them that we wanted it disconnected on the 11th and not to put in a work order to have it cancelled before that. Apparently you can cancel for a certain time but you have to schedule a time for them to turn it off AFTER the time you want to cancel. I know I know, sounds complicated and it is.. I mean its cable, duh!
Second weird thing is, we had to reorder joint checks from our bank. I had to put a rush on them because I need them for closing. Well, the genius who took my order said the way the bank orders checks is to put a double order in and when you receive the first set you have to call in and cancel the second order.
Oh, ok, that MAKES SENSE!!
I told that person, on the phone, that it’s not my responsibility to manage this transaction and he said that there was nothing he could do. Again, right my bad! So, for lack of better sense I went along with this kooky idea. Well, low and behold the first checks come in and I’m all HEY we got to call the bank and cancel the other round of checks! I call the bank, thinking I’m following directions, I’m following directions!!
When I get someone on the phone they tell me that I’ve already received the order for two and they don’t understand why I’m calling.
ME: I’m calling because I didn’t want to order two sets of checks and I want to cancel the second order.
OPERATOR: Well, but there are two sets, sir, on your account. Did you not get them?
ME: NO, I got the first set but I didn’t want to order two, I had to. The guy who took my order said they had to order me two sets and I was supposed to call and cancel the second order once the first set arrived.
OPERATOR: well, it shows here you ordered two sets.
ME: Yes, I know but I… are you listening to me? I’m telling you that I was told to call and cancel the second order.
OPERATOR: But you ordered two!
